ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan issued notices to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Member National Assembly (MNA) Jehangir Tareen in petitions filed by a former parliamentarian – Hanif Abbasi – regarding Panama leaks and adjourned the hearing till November 15.
A two-member bench of apex court – headed by Chief Justice (CJP) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Amir Muslim Hani – conducted the hearing of the petitions.
The petitioner’s counsel – Akram Sheikh – requested the court that the petitions should be heard alongside the Panama leaks and added that the PTI chairman himself had owned an offshore company.
“Imran Khan is running his party with foreign funds,” Akram claimed.
On this, the chief justice said that notices have been issued and that after hearing the second party, a verdict would be announced.
